Mary Conley

Mary Margaret (Brandt) Conley, 93, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Woodland Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jacksonville, FL.

Mary Margaret was born July 29, 1925 in Steubenville, OH. She was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Caniff) Brandt.

Mary Margaret retired in 2015 as the office manager at Quattrone Insurance, Steubenville, OH. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee and the Brooke County Senior Citizens. Many will remember Mary Margaret for her love of playing cards with lifelong friends in her card clubs and playing Bingo and the lottery. Most of all she will be remembered for sending greeting cards to everyone for their birthdays and other special occasions throughout the year.

Mary Margaret had a big heart and liked to pay it forward and “secretly” gave to many charities and people in need. She loved going to church and she dearly loved her family and friends. She will be missed by so many.

In addition to her parents, Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Conley in 2005 and her son, Robert Conley in 1976.

Mary Margaret is survived by her son, William “Bill” Conley and his wife, Mary Ann of Jacksonville, FL. Also residing in Jacksonville are two granddaughters, Kerri (Conley) McAdoo and husband, Brad McAdoo and great grandsons, Aspen and Dylan and Marissa (Conley) Walling and husband, Brandon Walling and great-granddaughter, Ruby. Mary Margaret’s family also includes Pamela Sue Downs and Evan Downs of Jacksonville, FL. and her “adopted” family – her neighbors on Church Street.

Family and friends will be received Monday, Nov. 26th from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St Anthony Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, WV with Father Cody Ford presiding.

Interment will follow next to her dear son and husband, Robert and George at St John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “secretly” to the charity of your choice or a person in need.
