Anne Mae Chek, 90, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019, at her home.
She was born May 6, 1928, in Cokeburg, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Schervinsky Cuprik. She was also proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph V. Chek, on May 3, 1990; son, Robert Chek; and brothers, Joseph and Richard Cuprik.
Anne was employed in the bookkeeping department of the former Grants Department Store and Stone & Thomas in Weirton. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, crafting and reading. Anne especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Joseph (Peggy) Chek of North Carolina; daughters, Debra Visnic of New Jersey and Janice Klopfer of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Hardey of Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Betty and Linda Cuprik, Eleanor Dugas-King and Marge Trinone; and brother-in-law, Thomas Chek.
Friends will be received Sunday 1-5 p.m. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, with The Reverend Father Dennis J. Schuelkens Jr. presiding. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
