Kathryn Roush
Kathryn M. Roush, age 94, of Sherrills Ford, NC, passed away peacefully at Abernethy Laurels, in Newton, NC, on May 15, 2019.
She was born September 10, 1924, in Lakewood, OH, to the late Patrick J. and Amelia McCormack Barrett.
She married Austin H. Roush and raised five children in Follansbee, WV.
She retired from retail sales at Harts Store in Wintersville, OH, in 1989. In 2014, she moved to NC, and resided with her daughter, Amelia Roush; son-in-law, Hal Armistead; and granddaughter, Shannon Armistead, until her death.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Woods, of Steubenville, OH; her brother, Robert E. Barrett of Wintersville, OH; and her Beloved Son, Thomas Patrick Roush of Dover, OH.
Surviving are her son, Martin Roush and wife, Susan of Lexington, SC; daughters, Amelia Roush and her husband, Hal Armistead, Carol Lynn Donohue and her husband, Michael of Elizabeth City, NC, Barbara E. Andrews and her husband, David of York Haven, PA, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara A.) Roush of Dover, OH. Also surviving are nine granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 537 N. Highway 16, Denver, NC, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Parish Activity Center.
Her final resting place will be Mount Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathryn’s memory to the Holy Spirit Building Fund, Denver, NC, would be deeply appreciated.
