Frank Tluchowski Sr.

Frank G. Tluchowski, Sr., a faith filled and devoted family man, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Aug. 12, surrounded by his family. He was 92.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ciancetta Tluchowski, the love of his life with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage on July 23. He is also survived by his five children – Frank (Madonna) Tluchowski, Carol (Andy) Garrison, Richard (Luann) Tluchowski, Marian (Jim) Zalenka, Michael (Michele) Tluchowski as well as nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchilden. Other surviving family members include his sisters Mary Olton and Agnes (Joe) Kostecki, brother Cas (Lorraine) Tluchowski, sister in law Marie Tluchowski, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Casmir and Sylvia Zabik Tluchowski and his siblings Thomas, George, and Anna.

Frank truly enjoyed his life’s work as a carpenter and was known for his exceptional finish skills. He was a proud holder of a 50 year gold card from Carpenter Local 186.

He was employed by Carlo Ciancetta and Sons for over 25 years.

Frank enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, woodworking, cooking, dancing and sudoku.

He was active in Scouting and Men’s Choir at St. Anthony’s Church.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 am at Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Tom Nau will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Friday at 7:45 pm.

Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to Holy Rosary Church, Tony Teramana Cancer Center, or Brayden Tipton (P.O. Box 592 Steubenville, OH 43953). Frank’s 11-year-old great nephew undergoing treatment for leukemia for the third time.

The family extends sincere thanks to the many health care professionals who supported Frank in his journey. Frank’s extraordinary strength and courage through his long life and many health battles inspired and encouraged many. He leaves a legacy of faith, family and friends that will live on.
