George Wesley McAbee, 78, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born May 22, 1941 in Weirton, a son of the late George W. and Vivian E. Wetzel McAbee.

Until his retirement, George served as a millwright for Weirton Steel Corporation and also owned and operated his own truck, specializing in pavement materials. He was a member of the Victory Life Church in Burgettstown and was a machinist by trade who enjoyed building motors and watching cowboy movies with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Cole) McAbee; daughter, Wendy (Dave) Kennedy of Weirton; brothers, Howard (Barbara) McAbee of Indiana and Dennis (Michelle) McAbee of Weirton; sister, Judy Rinikie also of Weirton; granddaughter, Darcey (Mike) Stanley and great- grandchildren Kayley and Miley Stanley.

Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV, where additional visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11a.m. at Victory Life Church, 590 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA. Pastor Jason Romine will officiate. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
