Larissa Dawn (Ostrosky) Salkovick, 27, of Follansbee, WV, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at her home.
She was born on November 22, 1991, in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Ronald Ostrosky and Cindy (Finsley) Ostrosky of Follansbee, WV.
Larissa graduated from Brooke High School in 2010 and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Liberty University. After college she worked for Wheeling Hospital, Weirton Medical Center ER, and Trinity Medical Center ER, and Cigna Insurance as an RN Case Manager. She was Christian by faith and attended the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Franklin Community Volunteer Fire Department where her dad was the former fire chief for many years. Many will remember Larissa for her years of service to the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club where she helped with the chicken barbeque and lighting of the lumaniers on Christmas Eve.
In additon to her mother, Larissa is survived by her loving husband Hunter Salkovick at home; one brother Vernon “Carl” Huff and companion Kathleena Conaway of Follansbee, WV, two sisters Julie (Bruce) Hubbard-Goff of Denton, TX, Jamie (Shawn) Herring-Smith of Leland, NC; one uncle Jerry Ostrosky of Follansbee, WV, and one aunt Betty (Gary) Kruger of Wellsburg, WV; her father-in-law, Greg Salkovick of Follansbee, WV and mother-in-law, Rachel (James) Mounts of Steubenville, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Larissa will be held on Wednesday, August 28, from 5:30 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV, with Elder Joy Leasure officiating.
Inurnment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Larissa’s honor to the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club.
