Lee W. Libengood, 88, of Weirton, WV passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Weirton Medical Center.
He was born June 27, 1931 in New Eagle, PA, the son of the late Zenith William Libengood and Lillian Anders Libengood. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Jo Libengood (1958) and a sister, Carol Smith.
Lee attended Tucker United Methodist Church, Florence, PA; was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on DD-756 USS Beatty, Korean War; member of Weirton Lodge 171 A.F. & A.M.; Osiris Shriners; Wheeling Scottish Rite; life member of VFW Post 2716; American Legion Post 10 and 25-Year Club of Weirton Steel. Lee enjoyed golfing, camping, dancing and skating. He retired from National Steel Corp., Weirton division, and Weirton Steel Corp. as a machinist and motor setter in the electrical machine shop. He also worked part-time for K & B Electric, Pottery Addition, OH.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Grey Libengood; sons, Lee W. Libengood II (Debbie) of Heath, OH, Terry Libengood (Julie) of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Tyler, David, Jennifer, David, Christen; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. Private funeral service and interment will be held with Pastor Kenn Jacobs presiding on Thursday. Burial will be at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA. Military honors will be provided by U.S. Navy honor guard and American Legion Post 10 honor guard.
