Anita Rasicci

Anita Angelina (Restaneo) Rasicci, 92, of Weirton, WV was received into the welcoming arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was surrounded by her family who covered her with much prayer, love and support just as she had done for them her entire life.

Anita was born April 7, 1927 in Muse, PA, the daughter of the late Alfonso and Adelia (Placido) Restaneo. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Playing cards and going to Mountaineer Casino were her favorite pastimes, but the thing she cherished the most was spending time with her family. Anita was an excellent seamstress and worked for Weisberger’s clothing store and managed the Park Manor Apartments which she owned.

After the tragic death of her beloved Ennio and son Victor in 1985, our mother became the matriarch of our family and was the source of inspiration, wisdom, laughter and faith. Her words and actions held our family close all these years. The dinner table was her pulpit where she preached many life lessons that shaped our values. Anita loved Jesus and prayed deeply and personally for each member of our family and friends. Everyone loved Anita; her magnetic personality and charm attracted new friends wherever she went. Life’s trials and challenges could not keep our endeared mother down and that strength made a lasting impressing with all those with whom she connected deeply as she shared her stories.

Mrs. Rasicci is survived by her two children, David Rasicci of Weirton, WV and Gina Ruffa (Dr. Anthony) of Erie, PA, and daughters-in-law, Dianna and Bonnie. Grandma was so incredibly proud of her 13 grandchildren, Joseph (Brandy), Briana (Troy), David, Michael, Danica, Anthony, Ginelle, Victor, Giana, Dante (Jennifer), Anthony, Justina and Camille; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Christine Restaneo-Schwager of Los Angeles and Laura Settepanella of Weirton; brother-in-law, Gabriel of Italy; two nieces, Jewel and Blaire Restaneo.

She was preceded in death by her husband she loved and missed so much, Ennio, to whom she was married for 29 years and remained faithful to all of her life; her precious son, Victor; brothers, Dr. Palmer J. Restaneo and Anthony (Tony) Restaneo, and sisters-in-law, Margaret Castelli of Weirton and Maria Clementoni of Italy.

Her family embraced her with joy and love one last time as she was entombed at St. Paul’s Cemetery and reunited with her dear husband and son forever. Well done my good and faithful servant, Anita. Come now and enter into eternal life! We want to express our gratitude to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care that our mother received during her short stay.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Anita’s life on Sunday, January 26, at 2 p.m. at New Life Church, 1492 Knights Road, Weirton, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcomed in Anita’s name to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers), 511 E. John Carpenter Freeway, Irving, TX 75062.
