John J. “Big John” Call, 75, of Steubenville died Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Valley Hospice.
He was born May 6, 1944 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Walter Call and Betty Jewett Klein.
Also preceding him in death are his wife Marlene Scalise Call and step father Lee Klein.
John was retired from Norfolk Southern where he was an engineer for many years. He was a member of Jefferson County Sportsman Association where he was an avid hunter and fisherman. John was also a dedicated fan of Big Red football.
Surviving are one son John Call of Cleveland; two daughters Aimee (Timothy) Kaminski of Oregon, OH and Lindsay Johnson of Normal, IL; two sisters Sherran Call of Steubenville and Sheryl Eynon of New Concord, OH; three grandchildren Josephine Brent, Caden Kaminski, Georgia Johnson and mother in law Lillian Scalise.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A celebration of life service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
