Joe Paul DiGiacinto, age 87, of Upper St. Clair, PA, died on December 25, 2020, at home.
Born February 5, 1933 in Follansbee, WV to Agostino “August” and Ilda “Hilda” Del Savio Di Giacinto who owned the Follansbee Market. Joe graduated from Follansbee High in 1950 and earned his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree at WVU. He went on to get his MBA at the University of Alabama.
He and his wife Margaret “Missy” Di Giacinto lived in Denver, Colorado, and Birmingham, Alabama before settling in Pittsburgh. Joe retired as Managing Director of the International Division at Calgon, a subsidiary of Merck. He valued time spent with family and friends sharing a good meal and wine, Country music and driving. He traveled extensively, initially hitchhiking across country in the 1950s, and visited all 50 states and 55 countries across the globe.
Survived by daughters Lorie DiGiacinto of Chambersburg, PA and Kathryn Di Giacinto Morris, son-in-law Mark Scott Morris and much adored grandchild Madelyn Augusta Morris, all of London, England, as well as his kind sister-in-law Sue Wallace Miller and good friend/Best Man Fred Mendicino.
Preceded in death by his wife Missy, and daughter Shelley DiGiacinto. Joe will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends, who may recall his advice, “Do what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it.” Arrangements by Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV
