Gary William Perkins, 71, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Valley Hospice Care North in Steubenville, OH.
He was born on September 15, 1949 in Follansbee, WV, a son of the late Harry W. and Elizabeth (Smith) Perkins. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald H. Perkins; a niece, Donna Horton; and his father-in-law, Paul Julio.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, where he was a mason. Gary was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church.
In his spare time Gary loved watching sports especially football and he loved attending old car auctions. Gary loved spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Antoinette (Julio) Perkins at home; two daughters, Ashley (Mark) Symons of Chesapeake, VA, Annette (Tim) Priest of Beaver, PA; six grandchildren, Addison, Maxwell, Harper, Grace, Natalie, and Eli; his mother-in-law, Amelia Julio; two brothers-in-law, Samuel (Liz) Julio, Paul Julio, both of Follansbee, WV; a sister-in-law, Mary “Jackie” Perkins of Follansbee, WV; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Gary will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV 26037, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
Catholic Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 4 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Jude Perera officiating at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson St., Follansbee, WV 26037.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV 26037.
Full military Honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
