David Earl Carr, 74, a hardworking family man of Weirton died Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Born July 28, 1946, in Cairo, WV, David was the third of eight children born to Harry and Hattie Cunningham Carr.
David retired from the City of Weirton, where he worked in the Water Department.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and woodcarving. But nothing compared to the times he cherished with his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Mae (Gene) Starvaggi; brothers in law, Eugene Rice, Ronnie Dye, and Austin Bassett
He will be remembered with love by his wife, Carolin Lee Loy Carr, whom he married on October 6, 1979; daughter, Christina (Jeff) Yoder; grandchildren, Emma, Layla, and Ryan Yoder; brother, Ernest (Marsha) Carr; sisters, Betty Dye, Harriett (Robert) Sturges, Virginia Bassett, Mary Carr, and Peggy Rice several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street where funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society. www.alz.org
