Antonette Wilkerson

Antonette Lucia “Butch” Wilkerson, 92 of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, June 9 at Valley Hospice Care North in Steubenville, OH.

She was born on October 16, 1928, in Follansbee, WV a daughter of the late Luigi and Michalene (Cardamone) Iafrate.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Wilbur E. “Webb” Wilkerson, three brothers, Anthony, Geno, and Loreto “88” Iafrate and her sister, Stella Iaftrate-Fitzgerald.

Butch graduated from Follansbee High School in 1946. She worked at Johnnies Market and as a seamstress for several years at Gogol’s Custom Draperies, and then worked for 18 years at Roger’s Jewelers in Steubenville, OH. Butch was an active member at St. Anthony Catholic Church and volunteered on the funeral luncheon committee as well as a member of the Civic League. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and making lap robes for the patients at Brightwood Center at Christmas and sewing dresses that were sent to the children of LaCroix missions in Haiti and hats and scarves that went to the children of Mexico, and robes for patients at Teramana Cancer Center.

Antonette is survived by three children, Saundra Ann (Roger) Gudelsky of Oak Creek, WI, Doretta (Bernard) Bish of Weirton, WV, Randy (Lori) Wilkerson of Pittsburgh, PA; her brother, Albert (Theresa) Iafrate of Warwood, WV; eight grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Ganiere, Kristin (Ryan) Banks, Shawn (Lisa) Bish, Alison Bish, Alexis, Erica, Ross, and Randy Wilkerson, eight great grandchildren, Josiah, Lilly, Molly, Lincoln, Reid, Avery, Jameson, and Daphne; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Antonette will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 4-8 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV. A vigil service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 5:00 P.M.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 12th at 9:30 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church 1017 Jefferson St. Follansbee, WV 26037 with Rev. Fr. Jude Perera officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
