Albert Flasko

Albert Grant Flasko 92, of Wellsburg, WV passed away on September 13, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

The son of the late Joseph and Mary (Grayshaw) Flasko, Albert was born on July 13, 1929, in Powhatan, OH.

Albert was married to the love of his life Agnes Marie (Tisik) Flasko. The couple, married 65 years, are the parents of two children, Albert D. Flasko, a Dentist, and Deborah (Albaugh), an Audiologist. Albert was very proud of his children and their accomplishments as well as his grandson Jacob Flasko, a star hockey player for seven years. Albert never missed a game. A member of the First Christian Church of Wellsburg, WV, Albert was a deacon and an elder. Albert and Agnes were both youth group leaders for several years. Albert served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division for four years, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a graduate of the United States Armed Forces Institute, and is remembered for making a parachute jump in 1954 at the Wellsburg, WV Fourth of July celebration. Albert worked for Weirton Steel for thirty-five years and was a member of the Twenty-Five Year Club. He worked as an electrician and retired as an Electrical Supervisor. He was also a member of the Wellsburg Masonic Lodge. An avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.

Albert was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph Flasko, and one sister Elizabeth Sarek.

Albert is survived by his wife Agnes, son Dr. Albert D. and wife Jackie and grandson Jacob, daughter Mrs. Deborah (Albaugh) and her husband Mark, as well as many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17th from 5-8 P.M. and again on Saturday, September 18th from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 10:00 A.M. at Mullenbach Funeral Home at 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV with Pastor Joy Leasure officiating.

Everyone who enters the building is required to wear a mask and practice reasonable social distancing.

Interment will follow in St. John Haven of Rest Cemetery in Colliers, WV. Graveside Masonic services will be conducted by the Wellsburg Lodge #2 A.F. & A.M. along with full military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and the Army Honor Guard.
