Lawrence Casinelli

Lawrence Paul “Woo” Casinelli 63, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on September 25, 1957, in Steubenville OH a son of the late Gaetano and Pierre (Martino) Casinelli.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Gaetano Casinelli; three brothers, David Anthony, Michael David, and Guy Casinelli, Jr., a sister-in-law, Glenda Casinelli, and one nephew, David Casinelli.

Woo graduated from Brooke High School in 1975 and attended West Liberty State College. He was a dedicated employee for over 40 years at Mountain State Carbon. Woo was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV.

Woo is survived by his loving wife, Shqiponje “Lori” Casinelli; three devoted children, Dr. Gabriella Casinelli of Morgantown, WV, Sgt. Perry (Victoria) Casinelli of Marietta, Ga, and Juliet Casinelli (Caleb Musselman) of Beaver Falls, PA; two grandchildren, Solomon “The Punisher” Musselman, and Josephine “Princess Poppy” Casinelli; four siblings, Fred Casinelli of Toronto, OH, Phillip Casinelli (Lana Grill), Mary Margaret (Joe) Ierise, Gloria Rairigh (Jack Burge), all of Follansbee, WV; Sister- in-law Sandy Casinelli, Uncle Frank (Violet) Martino of Wellsburg, WV; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Woo’s favorite spot was his back deck on a hot summer day overlooking the property on which he grew up as well as raised a family with Shqiponje. He will be remembered by family and friends for his love of music especially Frankie Valli and Perry Como, his nicknames for those who he loved dearly and his famous meatballs and popcorn.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a family led Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037.

There will also be visitation again on Friday, September 24 th from 9:00 am until the time of the Catholic Funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 1017 Jefferson St. Follansbee, WV with the Rev. Father Jude Perera as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The Friendship Room 419 Logan St. Steubenville, OH 43952. Both monetary and tangible donations are encouraged.

Due to Covid-19 the family requests that all visitors paying respects wear a mask.
