MICHAEL PILLAR, JR.

He was born on October 6, 1927, in Toronto, OH son of the late Michael Adam and Mary Agnes (Smith) Pillar, Sr.

Michael retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked from October 16, 1948 to December 1, 1986.

He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps serving from June 28, 1945 to August 27, 1946.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle R. ‘Tootie’ Pillar to whom he was married for 67 years prior to her passing August 28, 2017, brother George Nicholas Pillar, sister Margaret Marks, and son-in-law Harvey F. Yergin, Jr.

Surviving is his sister-in-law, Josephine Dylewski of Wintersville, OH, brother-in-law, Frank Sagun of Steubenville, OH; four sons, Mark (MiCha) Pillar of Honolulu, Hawaii, Miles (Kathy) Pillar of Dover, OH, Matthew (Julie) Pillar of Dover, OH, and Mitchell (Lori) Pillar of Rowlett, TX; two daughters, Michele (Bill) Killian of Stanwood, Michigan, and Marian Pillar of Louisville, OH with whom he resided.

He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Morgan (Patrick) Connell, Erin (Brandon) Nock, Billy, Dan, and Joe Killian, Michael (Jessica), Bebe, Nathan, and Alec Pillar and four great-grandchildren, Delaney and Nolynn Connell, Deakin and Brody Nock.

Dad loved all of his children equally.
