Sara McKnight
Sara Armintha McKnight, 83, St. Marys died Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Stonerise of Belmont.
She was born February 28, 1939, on the Little Farm, the daughter of the late Harry and Mae Locke Little. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Marys High School. After graduation, she worked at Quaker State, Sterling Oil Division as a posting clerk for nine years. She would later work as a secretary at Belmont Elementary School for 22 years, affectionately known as the lady with the Band-Aids. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Her spare time was spent among the United Methodist Women, the Lions Club, and the CEOs. Baking was her favorite pastime and she enjoyed sharing her goodies with friends and family. She and her husband, Jim traveled to all 50 states and each MLB ballpark. They also visited Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Sara married Jim McKnight on Christmas Day, 1960.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, John (Anne); grandchildren, Adam, Lily, and Emme; sister, Ruth Blauser; brother, George (Eleanor) Little; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Steven.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the St. Marys United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy McCune, and the Rev. Clare Sulgit officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Lane Cemetery, Hebron, WV. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV, and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
