CATHERINE “KITTI” SMITH
Catherine Louise Buffone “Kitti” Smith, 83, of Steubenville went to be with the lord on June 8, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center West ER. She was born October 24, 1939 in Steubenville, to the late Thomas and Anna Mae Houser Buffone. She is also preceded in death by her sister Barbara Burnetta.
Kitti was a homemaker and was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School class of 1957 and enjoyed her monthly luncheons recently with her old classmates. She had many friends and never met a stranger. She was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish and was a member of the Catholic Woman’s Club at Holy Rosary Church. She was very faithful in her Catholic religion. Kitti loved her family and friends beyond words and would have done anything for them. She had a special place in her heart for Nina, who was the light of her life, she loved her to the moon and back.
Kitti is survived by her husband John C. Smith, whom she married May 21, 1960; she is also survived by her two children, Christina (Robert) Frazee and John C. Smith; her twin sister Margaret Spence; Four grandchildren, John Paul (Ana) Smith, Amber (Matt) Lumpkin, Briana, and Michael Anthony Smith; Six great- grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Nina Lumpkin, Maria, Gia, Allie, and Johnny.
Visitation will be held at the Mosti Funeral Home, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville on Monday, June 12 from 10 am-12 pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 12:30 pm with entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
