JENNIE SFERRELLA
Jennie G. Mastroianni Sferrella of Steubenville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the age of 96 at Country Club Manor, where she has been a resident since June of 2018.
She was born November 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Fedele (Frank) and Teresa Alessio Mastroianni. Jennie is also preceded in death by her husband Frank S. Sferrella, her brothers Joseph, Carlo, and Guido Mastroianni, sisters Frances (Chickie) Connors, Rae Ostrowsky, as well as their spouses, and former companion Eric Farchione. Jennie’s in-laws, Charles (Guy) and Gina Sferella, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter Terry Abramowicz ( Joe) of New Orleans, son Frank C. Sferrella of Steubenville, former daughter-in-law Liz Megna Sferrella of Virginia Beach; grandchildren Danielle (Klete) Abramowicz Bohnet of New Orleans, Joey Abramowicz (partner Jeff Coon) of Lancaster, PA, and Franco Sferrella of Virginia Beach; great grandchildren Victoria Bohnet and Matthew Bohnet of New Orleans, Piper Coon and Jackson Coon of Lancaster, PA; brother Angelo (Joann) Mastroianni of Weirton; brother-in-Law and sister-in-Law Nino and Marilyn Sferrella of Delaware, Ohio. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her special godchildren.

Jennie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, former parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Anthony’s.
She was involved in Saint Francis Society and the Catholic Women’s Club. She also enjoyed many years with her very best friends in the Greek Rum Club.
She was employed at the Hub of Steubenville for the entirety of her retail working career.
The Family would like to thank The Country Club Manor and Valley Hospice for the excellent care given to Jennie.
Visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 12 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
