CAROLE “JILL” WALTER IRVINE

Jill was born on September 3rd, 1938, to Alonzo (Buddy) Husted and Lillian (Sally) Husted in Pittsburgh, PA. After Alonzo passed away, and Sally remarried, Jill was adopted by Sally’s second husband, Earl R. Walter.

Jill obtained her undergraduate degree at West Liberty State College and her master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University where she studied Educational Administration. Jill served as a schoolteacher for approximately 40 years in Jefferson County, OH and Anne Arundel County, MD.

In 1959, Jill married John Irvine Jr., they went on to have two children, John Irvine III, and Jeffrey Irvine. In June 2010, John Irvine Jr. unfortunately passed away. In 2014, Jill married Greg Shorey of Greenville, SC.

Jill enjoyed painting, drawing, golfing, sailing, and volunteering at her local church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and other loved ones. She was a loyal, compassionate, lovable, and supportive friend to many and a wonderful wife and mother.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents, Mother Lillian, Father Alonzo, Adoptive Father Earl, and husband John Irvine Jr. She is survived by her sons John and Jeff Irvine, Daughter-In-Laws Laura and Shelly Irvine, and Grandchildren John Irvine IV, Stephen Irvine, AnnaMaria Irvine, Ashley Irvine, Jack Irvine, Katie Cade, and one great grandchild.
