SAMUEL PEELER JR.

Samuel B. Peeler, Jr., 90, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away Monday June 2, 2025 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

He was born July 23, 1934 in Mingo Junction, OH a son of the late Samuel B. and Mazie (Booth) Peeler, Sr.

Sam retired in 1993 from AEP where he was a lineman then a safety coordinator. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Sam was an avid hunter and enjoyed going to his cabin in Pennsylvania. Upon retirement he and his wife Sara traveled the country in their RV.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Sara (Young) Peeler whom he married June 16, 1957; three sons, Samuel Peeler of Steubenville, OH, Leonard (Jayna) Peeler of New Cumberland, WV and Jody (GiGi) Peeler of Hopedale, OH; a sister, Joanne (the late Paul) Sogan of Mingo Junction, OH; six grandchildren, Chad Peeler, Benjamin (Hannah) Peeler, Courtney (Isaac) Edman, Cole Peeler, Logan Peeler and Nicolette Peeler; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with his grandson Benjamin Peeler and Pastor Seth Filburn, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, OH.
