EDNA GORBY
Edna Maxine Gorby, 100, formerly of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Florida, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 29, 1925, in Island Creek Township, Ohio, to the late Sheridan and Edna Blanche (Thorly) Randolph. In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her first husband, Ray C. Miller; her late husband, James E. Gorby; her daughter, Charlotte Van Nuys; her brothers, Earl and Dean Randolph; her sisters, Evelyn Dew and Florence Whitehouse; and her step son, Gene Gorby.
Edna was a devoted woman of faith. She was a former member of the Assembly of God Church in Steubenville, Ohio, and after moving to Florida, she became an active member of the Country Chapel Church. Her deep faith guided her life, and she shared it joyfully through her involvement with the Women’s Ministries Word of Life.
She is survived by her son, Ray D. “Butch” (Kathy) Miller; her step sons, Gail, Allen, Eric, Burl, Joel, and Adam Gorby; her grandchildren, Doug Van Nuys, Dean Van Nuys; David Van Nuys, Michael Miller, and Christina Callahan; her great grandchildren, Amanda Van Nuys, Hannah Van Nuys, Henry Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Francesco Cutri, Mia Cutri, David John Van Nuys, John Van Nuys, Crystal Van Nuys, Amber Van Nuys, and Zach Van Nuys; and her great great grandchildren, Bailey and Kaylee Van Nuys.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 11 A.M. until time of services at 1 P.M. with Pastor Gary Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville.
