Support Weirton United Way

To the Editor,

The month of September is the official “kick-off” for the Weirton United Way annual campaign.

This charitable organization provides vital support for its member agencies. Many of these agencies we are familiar with by name. Others may be less familiar. All of them are providing to those in need, offering opportunities to reduce illiteracy, care for the elderly, relief of suffering in times of disaster, and uniting the community.

These are the current agencies receiving support from the Weirton United Way: Family Connections, Comfort House, Community Bread Basket, Dunbar Recreation Center, Healthways Inc., Hancock/Brooke/Ohio/Marshall Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, Hancock County Sheltered Workshop, Hancock County 4-H Foundation, Weirton Medical Center, Salvation Army Weirton Corps, Weirton Christian Center, Mary H. Weir Library, and The American Red Cross of Northwest West Virginia.

Please give consideration to this most worthy cause. The Weirton United Way is the principal charity of Weirton. The goal this year is $260,000. Every cent is needed. The United Way office staff will be mailing information to local residents. You can get additional information on FaceBook at Weirton United Way or by contacting the Weirton United Way office.

Together we can achieve this goal! Remember: “Great things happen when we Live United”
