Acts of kindness still exist

To the Editor,

I am writing this letter to the editor to recongize, praise and give thanks for the fitting and excellent memorial reception and picnic for John Kelly, manager of the Convenient Food Store on Pennsylvania Avenue in Weirton, who passed away unexpectedly few weeks ago.

The memorial picnic was held Sunday, Sept. 10 at Starvaggi Park, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and was organized, planned and carried out by the store owner, Frank Rosiak, and employees and friends of John. Refreshments were provided by Mr. Rosiak and the employees of Convenient Mart, all being free of charge.

The store was closed from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to allow all the employees the opportunity to attend the memorial.

John was a kind and decent man, an honest and hard worker and a generous giver to those in need. The memorial picnic gave all of us some closure and time to grieve in our individual ways; something we didn’t otherwise have.

We all give thanks for that.

Rest in peace, John.
