Learning more about faith

To the Editor,

I read so much bad news in the newspaper and read so many negative Letters to the Editor, I thought everyone may enjoy some good news.

St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School has a tremendous new concept. When Fr. Dennis Schuelkens became Pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School, he started having a student participation Mass on Fridays at 9 a.m. These students are learning so much about their faith and the history of the Catholic Church. I am so inspired by the format for the Mass by giving every student the opportunity to participate from the Kindergarten through eighth grade. Last year the theme was “Step up to the plate; Step forward.” I am anxious to see what Fr. Dennis will come up with this year.

I am a cradle Catholic but I have learned so much about the Catholic Church that I don’t think I was ever taught before. I look forward to being a part of the school Mass.
