Celebrating 100 years

To the Editor,

Today, November 11, marks the end of World War 1. This date has been noted as an official United States public holiday, Veterans Day.

November 11, 1918, also marks the date Poland was reborn.

This was a dream of many generations of Poles around the world to become a recognized country.

For over 100 years Poland was wiped off the world map. With the help of United States President Wilson the Republic of Poland was included in his 14 point plan for peace. On November 11, 1918 Jozef Pilsudski took control of this new country.

Today, Poland will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of regaining independence. Recently President Trump met with the current Polish President Andrzej Duda to continue relations. President Trump is considering a permanent military presence in Poland.

To help celebrate this milestone, please join many Polish Americans on this day at the Cathedral of Learning in Pittsburgh for Polish Fest from noon to 5pm.

Sto Lat-100 years
