Only thinking makes it evil

To the Editor,

This is in reference to Patrick Buchanan’s column “Mayor Pete and the crackup of Christianity.”

The elite columnists like Buchanan, Cal Thomas and other holier-than-thous who exaggerate the 21st century morals vs. what they have been down throughout history are exactly what they were called in the time of Moses and, later, in the time of Jesus — bigots.

Civilization knows it has been a world of racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic and bigoted people since the beginning of time.

Buchanan quotes Hamlet, “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” Buchanan’s problem with Mayor Pete Buttigieg making a run for president is that he is openly gay.

God creates everything and everybody, the good apple and the apple with the worm in it. Let him render justice.

Buchanan speaks of pronography. In the only scene I have ever seen biblically of Eve, she is clothed with a leaf in the appropriate place.

What did God expect when putting a nude man and a nude woman in Eden, frolicking around and having a good time? Innocence turned into sin is hogwash. If there is anything more pleasurable than a woman in a man’s arms, God kept it for himself.

Christianity hasn’t ruined Christianity. It’s the supposed religious leader down at the church of misbehaven preaching his of her version of what Scripture means –how to sin or what constitutes sin and how to be forgiven.

Innocence, romance and procreation, punished as sin by the holier-than-thou. It’s just like a picture represents what is in the eye of the beholder. Hamlet was right — only thinking can make it evil.
