Is this your turn to turn things around?

Everywhere we turn in our culture is seems like everything is in upheaval. Drug addiction and drug overdoses, so many ending tragically in death. Also, many turn to alcohol to medicate their pain or gambling and tragically become addicted, bringing even more destruction into their lives. Divorce has shattered the lives of so many families. Children being tossed back and forth from home to home, splitting their time and their hearts on a daily basis, leaving so many children feeling insecure and fragmented, feeling abandoned and rejected. Parents are depressed and trying to pay the bills and keep their head above the murky waters weighed down by fear and anxiety. So many have lost hope.

Is there any “Good News?” Yes, there is in 2017! According to author, speaker and teacher, Cindy Jacobs, who is well respected in the realm of prophecy, the number “17,” in Hebrew, means, “Complete Victory!” I believe the Lord spoke to me at the beginning of the year that 2017 was going to be a year of “Turnaround!” This could be your year of “Turnaround,” and “Complete Victory!”

There is an amazing picture of “Turnaround” and “Complete Victory” in the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament. Read Nehemiah chapters 1-6. Nehemiah was a Prisoner of War in Persia. He was the Cupbearer to the King Xerxes. He was brokenhearted about the city of Jerusalem because it’s walls were broken down and it’s doors burned. It was in ruin, and the people were broken, hopeless, and depressed, much like many of our lives were before we came to Jesus.

Nehemiah prayed, and the Lord gave him favor with the king and the queen, and they allowed him to go back to Jerusalem with basically a blank check to buy building supplies to rebuild the city walls of Jerusalem. The king even sent an armed guard of several men to protect Nehemiah on his trip to Jerusalem. Nehemiah inspired the people of Jerusalem with his story of favor that the Lord gave him with a wicked king to rebuild the walls. He also had a letter from the King to prove his claim.

Nehemiah and the people rebuilt the walls in 52 days, seven and a half weeks, with harassment from the local governors and their enemies on every side.

Maybe your life sounds a lot like the walls of Jerusalem and the people of Israel during Nehemiah’s time. Maybe you feel like the devil has thrown the kitchen sink at you. Maybe drug addiction, or alcohol, or gambling has left you broken? Perhaps, your parents divorced or you divorced and your family and your life feels like it’s in ruins. There is hope! A friend of mine, Pete, was a “Turnaround” expert in business. When companies needed a “Turnaround,” they would hire him to look over every aspect of the company and change what needed changed to turn it around. He was great at turning businesses around.

Friends, Pete was a great “Turnaround” man, but there is a better “Turnaround” man, His name is Jesus! Thirty seven years ago he took a poor, broken, and suicidal young man like me, and turned my life around and called me to preach, and to help others turn their lives around. I’m not talking about a theory, or a philosophy, I had a real encounter with the real God, the real living God who turned my life around. Eight months later I was in Bible College, and I pray that I can help you, with my testimony to believe God for your year of “Turnaround,” and your year of “Complete Victory!”

Dr. Reginald Kliminocke said, in his book, “Overcoming the Giants in Your Life,” “The Edge of Disaster, and the Brink of A Miracle are the same place!” If it looks bad in your life and your situation, and you’ve tried everything else, cry out to Jesus! Ask Him to forgive your sins, and to come into your life. Ask Jesus to give you His Holy Spirit, and to help you to rebuild your life like Nehemiah and Israel rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem, in just 7 1/2 weeks.

This could be your Year of “Turnaround,” and “Complete Victory!” Don’t wait! And, if you know someone who needs to hear this “Good News!” send them this article, and encourage them that if a wicked King would give Nehemiah favor and a blank check, how much more is Jesus, the King of Kings, willing to give you favor to turn your life around. He already paid the price for our rebuild, with His blood.

God bless you! You’re on the Brink of a Miracle from God! Don’t give up! Step toward God, and He will run to you!
