Stop fighting with your eyes closed
No one giving fighting advice would say close your both eyes and just start swinging and screaming, at best the person giving the advice is misinformed and at worst the person is working for the other team. People are faced with many different challenges. A few of these challenges are caused by our own bad decision making and others are caused by others. So often we are quick to blame the devil or someone else. If desperate enough we may even blame God. Listed below are Four Eye Opening Points Every Person Should Know:
Be Strong — The Apostle Paul writes to the church at Ephesus in Ephesians 6:10 to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. As a Christian you are not limited to your own power or strength but you can be strong in the Lord. You are not a victim, but rather a victor in this life. No one can stop you, not even your adversary the devil. All he can do is try to encourage you to quit.
Put on the FULL armor — You are not limited to just the shield of faith. You can put on the helmet of salvation. Remember God has not given you a spirit of fear, but that of love, power and a sound mind. Salvation is so much more than your sins being forgiven. Jesus will also heal your body and prosper you. Jesus told us that we have not because we ask not. The full armor is the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the battle boots of peace, the sheild of faith and the sword which is the Word of God. Know your weapons. An intriguing aspect of the armor is that it covered the front of the person. We need to face our battles not run from them.
The fight is not with man — Stop blaming racism, feminism, chauvinism, humanism or any other type of -ism. While all of these things do exist, according to the Bible they cannot stop you. You may be hindered but not defeated. All of these things are the fruit of “the schemes of the devil.” (Eph 6:11) You must put on the full armor of God so that you can stand firm against these schemes. The Apostle Paul continues to write in Ephesian 6:12, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the forces of darkness and spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. Our adversary is called the god of the air. Adam relinquished his dominion when the enemy caused man to sin. Jesus Christ restored our dominion on this earth when He overcame death, hell and the grave. We should not only know our weapons, but we should know how to use them and for whom they are to be used against. We are not fighting people, but rather the motivating spirit of darkness which spurns them to act.
Take Personal Responsibility — The devil did not make Adam and Eve eat from the forbidden tree. He just enticed them. You may be tempted on every side to blame someone else for what Jesus Christ has given you the authority to overcome. I can write countless examples of individuals who have overcome life’s obstacles and achieved greatness. Some people will argue the point that these are just the “lucky ones” or even predestined in some form or fashion to be great. Regardless the one thing you need to know is they “Stopped Fighting with Their Eyes Closed.”
