From the Pulpit: Times may change, but God’s word does not

Not many days from now will be a very special opportunity for all Americans, it is the opportunity to cast our vote for the President of the United States. Plus the other local and state voting are vital as well. Many opinions abound concerning the best for these offices and whomever we don’t want in these offices. I am sure many minds are already made up and many have already voted by absentee ballot. Of course, now here comes the “however”: Reflect first on these verses:

Ps.48:1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” Hebrews. 12:28 “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us had have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” The “however” is this: God is still in control and we will continue to wording and please him. To accomplish this, consider these 7 things this or any election will not shake.

1. We will continue to worship God in spirit and truth : “we will not be shaken.”

2. We will continue to practice the golden rule : “we will not be shaken.”

3. We will continue to uphold the sanctity of the home : “we will not be shaken”

3. We will continue to continue to love Christ and his church : “we will not be shaken.”

5. We will continue to lead the lost to Jesus : “we will not be shaken.”

6. We will continue to preach the truth in love: “we will not be shaken.”

7. We will continue to focus our heart, mind, soul and strength on Heaven: “we will not be shaken.”

We live in changing times, some good some not. We must all be thankful that God never changes. His word, promises and truths are as strong today as when they were spoken. Read your bible, pray every day and you’ll grow, grow, grow.
