Penny Project helps charity

October 8, 2012
Weirton Daily Times
Since March 2011, the children at the Weirton Christian Center have been taking part in the Penny Project, collecting 20,000 pennies — or $200, to contribute to a local charity. The students donated the collection to the Table of Hope, a program at the First United Methodist Church in Weirton which provides free dinners during the week. Taking part in the presentation are, in front from left, Kelsey LeMasters, Elijah Anderson, Jacob LeMasters, Charles Castner and Devin Summers. In back, Ashley Vos, Kim Weaver, director at the Christian Center, Pam Donahue, coordinator at Table of Hope, Deronda Bruich, Christian Center assistant director. -- Contributed
