WEIRTON - A fundraiser started by the Rotary Club of Weirton Heights last year is making its return, but with a twist.

The second-annual Run with Rotary is set to take place Oct. 27 on the Panhandle Trail.

The run and walk event is a 5K beginning and ending at the trailhead, with a start time of 9 a.m. There is a $10 cost to participate for those registering by Oct. 21. The registration fee then will increase to $15 per runner.

Prizes will be given to the top male and female finishers at the end of the race. With the event's proximity to Halloween, prizes also will be presented for best costume categories.

The Rotary Club is still seeking support for the race from area businesses and residents.

"We still need sponsors," organizer Amanda Mesler said.
