Road closing,

other work announced

Johnsonville Road in Chester will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday while crews pave it.

The work is slated to be finished at 5 p.m. Friday. Pyramus Road is the official detour during the project.

The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced other work to be performed next week, pending suitable weather.

Also in Hancock County, crews will be patching Shepherds Valley Road, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Eighth, Ninth and 10th avenues; and Grant, First, Sixth and Jefferson streets; and ditching along Kingsdale Road, Princess Drive, Patricia Avenue, Dottie Way, Basil and Payton drives and Hemlock Lane. They also will be mowing along many roads.

In Brooke County crews are paving Hospital Hill Road, also known as the back way to Weirton Medical Center. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers, but drivers should expect delays.

Crews in Brooke County also will be patching Colliers Way, pulling shoulders and ditches along state Route 88 and mowing along state Route 2.

County Road 56

slip repair to start

RICHMOND - Jefferson County Engineer's Department reported county Road 56 will be closed in a section for the repair of a slip beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The road will be closed one-half mile west of state Route 152. There will be no through traffic. The road will remain closed in that section for about four weeks, the engineer's department reported.
