Ohio Valley Volleyball Academy holding try-outs at Bethany
BETHANY - Ohio Valley Volleyball Academy will hold the try-outs for female players aged 8 to 18 at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 25 at Bethany College's TJ Recreation Center.
The academy competes within the Ohio Valley Region of USA Volleyball. Teams are offered at three levels, including developmental training, developmental travel and travel.
Players are welcome from West Virginia, Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Parent group hosting 'Mayhem'
WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 2014 Parent Group will host a "Friday Night Mayhem" for children in fourth through eighth grades from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Millsop Community Center located on Main Street.
Admission is $10 per person and includes a hot dog, chips and bottle of water. Pizza, soda, snacks and candy may be purchased at the concession stand. The event will include games, swimming and music. Each child attending must have a permission slip signed by a parent; permission slips will be available at the door. Children must be picked up promptly.

Train display returns to museum
WEIRTON - The animated and illuminated Christmas train display, including trains, trolleys, buildings, carnival and ski slopes, will be on display beginning 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 24, to coincide with the city Christmas parade, at the Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center located at 3149 Main St.
Following the parade, the display will be on view from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sundays through Dec. 30.
