Louella Gray

GRAY, Louella V. Lamp, age 80, a homemaker of Wintersville, Ohio, formerly of Wills Creek and the Alikanna area, passed peacefully away November 24, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at the Valley Hospice Care Center, North, Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born March 6, 1932 in Ritchie County, West Virginia to the late Collie and Rose Forrester Lamp.

Louella was a member of the Plum Run Christian Union Church in New Alexandria, Ohio, and worked for many years at the former Close's Market in Alikanna, Ohio. She was a loving mom, grandma, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed going to functions at Meridian Green with her friends and she especially enjoyed family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry F. Gray January 30, 2002 whom she married January 8, 1955; sister, Francis Gray; brother Chester Lamp and great-grandchildren, Harry and Haley Smith.

Louella is survived by: her son, Dale (Connie) Gray of St. Louis, Missouri; daughters, Debbie (Bill) Smith and Mary Lou Gray (with whom she resided) both of Steubenville, Ohio, Sondra (Dave) Brockway of Mingo Junction, Ohio and Brenda (Michael) Armstead of Wake Forest, North Carolina; grandchildren, Chuck (Brandi) Smith, Becky Smith, Cory (Krisi) Brockway all of Steubenville, Ohio; Amber and Emily Gray of San Jose California, Chad (April) Bishop of Virginia and Nichole (Ricky) Montgomery of Richmond, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kaitlyn and Domenic Smith and Kylar Brockway and Clayton Bishop. Also surviving are her sister Freda (Don) Mossor; brother, Creal (Twila) Lamp of Harrisville, West Virginia; sister-in-law Mary Richards and brother-in-law John Mossor of Pennsboro, West Virginia.

She was "second mother" to: Joe (Tammy) Gray, Karen (Bert) Fox, Chris (Clearance) Fox, Steve (Chris) Gray and Janet Gray. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved and cherished.

Visitation hours for Louella will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 27th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.

A celebration service of Louella's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28 at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Wayne officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery, County Road 46, Church Road, Toronto.

In lieu of flowers memorial Contributions in memory of Louella may be made to the Plum Run Christian Union Church c/o Pastor Roger Wayne, 344 Township Road 382, Steubenville, OH 43952.
