YORKVILLE - Details of a proposed labor agreement for Esmark Inc.'s newly acquired Ohio Cold Rolling Co. will be shared with steelworkers during a special informational session set for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Yorkville Fire Department.
Details of the proposed contract, announced Friday, have not been released, but company officials have said it would, if approved, include wage increases over the life of the four-year agreement, comprehensive health care for workers and their families, contributions to the Steelworker Pension Fund and participation in a Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association Trust, which provides health care benefits for retired union workers.
A ratification vote is slated from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday at USW Local 1223, Yorkville.
Meanwhile, workers from the Cold Rolling Co. as well as its sister plant, Ohio Coatings Co, can pick up vouchers for a holiday ham today at the Local 1223 union hall. Those unable to attend today's voucher session can get one Wednesday or Friday.
The hams are available through Jacobs Meats in Martins Ferry.
