BETHANY - The Bethany Woman's Club, General Federation of Woman's Clubs, met Nov. 19 at Bethany Memorial Church with President Helen Moren presiding.
Devotions were led by Judy VanHorn, using a Thanksgiving theme. Reports were heard from Secretary Beverly Chambers and Treasurer Judy Pyle. Moren reported on the Connections program on Oct. 17 and Make A Difference Day.
The club delivered meals to 10 families in the community and on Nov. 13, a spaghetti dinner was held, honoring 14 veterans. Nine stockings were sewn and filled for Boatsie's Boxes to send to servicemen and women serving overseas.
Favors were made for Ann's Country Retreat and Valley Haven Nursing Home. Donations also were made to the window fund at Bethany Memorial Church, Anna Jarvis Home, Pearl Buck Foundation 1734 Society, Camp Mountain Heart, GFWC-WV Scholarship and the GFWC state president's project, Camp Kno Koma; and district president's hunger project.
The group's Christmas dinner will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Bethany Memorial Church. Guests will include former Kiwanis members and community members.
