The Point Pleasant Ladies Aide held their meeting/Christmas dinner at the home of member, Patty Bruce, on Dec. 12.
The Bruce home was decorated with a Christmas tree, Santas, Angels, lights, a nativity scene, and greenery. The dining table displayed the Christmas theme.
The Saint Luke version of The Christmas Story was read by Louanne Huff, who then gave the blessing for the meal.
Following the dinner, Carolyn Allison conducted the meeting. She lit the memory candle to remember those members that were unable to attend due to illness, traveling, or obligations. Mick Goffoli read the minutes, and Kathleen McDonald gave the financial report.
Mick Goffoli read thank you cards received from Bill Glass for the Christ Tree donation and from the United Social Service.
Carolyn Allison informed the group that six names have been added to the Memory Plaque, and it will be placed in the fellowship room at the Point Pleasant Methodist Church.
Louanne Huff reported she distributed gloves and hats to Oak Glen High School, Oak Glen Middle School, and the elementary schools. The members voted to supply lotion to the residents at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester.
The members signed Christmas letters to be sent to Jay Manypenny, son of member Sharon Manypenny and Cullen Wallace, grandson of member Linda McNeil. Both men are in the military.
The members completed an angel project which was started in March. Each month members put coins or dollars in an angel bank for tasks completed on a check sheet. These boxes were collected, and the donation will be used for community needs.
Allison gave a closing prayer, and the meeting was adjourned.
Following the meeting, the group held an angel-themed gift exchange.
The hostesses for the evening were Patty Bruce, Lora Bailey, Eileen Snyder, and Ruth Fuller. The group will meet again on March 13.
