STEUBENVILLE - Dante Zambrini of Canfield is interim vice president of operations at Eastern Gateway Community College.

Zambrini's office is in the college's Valley Center in downtown Youngstown.

"The creation of Eastern Gateway Community College has opened numerous career doors for students of Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. The quality of programs that serve students in Jefferson County are expanding to provide students in the three additional counties with rigorous courses, supportive educators, and high rates of programs completion. I am an avid supporter of Eastern Gateway and excitedly celebrate the successes of Eastern Gateway students," Zambrini said about joining the college's leadership team.

EGCC President Laura Meeks said his educational expertise "is a great strength because he is an outstanding educator with a strong belief in the mission of community colleges. He believes that a better education helps everyone to have a better life, and he spent his whole career focused on helping people have access to high quality education."

Zambrini, a former member of the college's board of trustees, recently retired as superintendent of the Canfield Local Schools. He was superintendent for 10 years. His other work with the school system includes assistant superintendent, director of administrative services, principal and instructor. He also was an adjunct professor at Youngstown State University.

At YSU, Zambrini earned bachelor's and master's degrees and continued his post-master's degree work at the University of Akron. He participated in the Ohio Department of Education Principal's Evaluation System and served on former Gov. Strickland's Institute on Creativity and Innovation in Education. Among his awards are the Exemplary Educational Leadership Award from Buckeye Association of School Administrators and YSU Outstanding Alumnus Award.
