Maggie O’s shines in Smithfield

December 30, 2012
Weirton Daily Times
Peg Otto is owner and operator of Maggie O’s, a new business in a rustic cabin at 2167 county Road 15, outside of Smithfield. Maggie O’s, a handmade jewelry and gift shop, specializes in all things bridal. With her Christian name being Margaret, she always wanted to be called Maggie, and the shop gives her that opportunity, she said. She was named craftsman of the month by Rock and Gem Magazine in April 2011 for a rooster made from tumbled stones, something she also specializes in for her jewelry. “I can take old beads from a grandmother’s and mom’s old jewelry and make it into new and interesting bridal jewelry,” she said. “I make matching colors for bridal party jewelry and for the bride as well.” Otto and her husband, Lewy, make the signs and cards attached to their gift baskets and jewelry. She is pictured at a tea table display of her candle arrangements and gift tea cups filled with a variety of teas.
