Game gives school communities chance to donate to charity

WEIRTON?-During the Weir High School-Madonna High School boys basketball game at 6 p.m. today at the Weir gymnasium, both school's Interact Clubs will be collecting nonperishable food items and monetary donations for the Community Bread Basket, a Weirton-based organization that provides food assistance and social services to low-income residents.

Those attending are asked to take part in the friendly competition to see which school community can collect the most food and funds for the charity.

Alumni selling calendars

COLLIERS - The Colliers Alumni and Friends Association is selling calendars until Feb. 15.

To order one or for information, call Colliers Primary School at (304) 748-8188. The group will be awarding a scholarship to a graduating Brooke High School senior who attended the school. Applications for the scholarship are due April 5 and information can be obtained at Brooke High School.
