Clarence Barnett

BARNETT, Clarence E. Jr., 60, of Follansbee, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the VA Medical Center, Apsinwall, PA.

Clarence was born on July 16, 1952, in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late Clarence E. Sr. and Alberta (Geary) Barnett.

Clarence was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV. He worked as a factory worker and in the coal mines. Clarence was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Hooverson Heights Sportsman Club.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, John and Agnes Krystynak.

Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carmel (Krystynak) Barnett of Follansbee, WV, four sons, Paul (Joy) Marino of Follansbee, WV, Jason (Judy) Barnett of Indiana, John (Amanda) Barnett of Wellsburg, WV, PV2 Shane Barnett, serving in the U.S. Army in South Korea, and like a fifth son, Corey Koerner of Follansbee, WV, three daughters, Lisa (Eric) Marino-McIntosh of Fort Worth, TX, Erin (Michael) Sawangsangsai of Washington State, and Amanda Barnett, residing at home, nine grandchildren, Kayla, Paul Jr. and Kaitlin Marino, Ashley and Stephanie Barnett and Cheyenne, Preston Barnett, Jayden and Jasmine Sawangsangsai, a brother, William Barnett of Toronto, Ohio, two sisters, Alice Levy of Columbia, MD, and Dorothy Barnett of Wellsburg, WV, a best friend, Brian Coen of Follansbee, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 2 p.m. until time of Vigil service at 4 p.m. at the James Funeral Home 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV, (304) 527-1717, where funeral will commence on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 9 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1014 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, with Father Pete Giannamore, presiding, where military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

Following the mass, Clarence will be cremated.

Inurnment will be held privately at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
