Wall has arrived

The monument was assembled at the site by volunteers with the Follansbee American Legion Post, Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and Steubenville chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Support group and other community members under the direction of staff with Vietnam Combat Veterans Ltd., which has brought it to locations throughout the U.S. A Navy veteran, McFadden will be the guest speaker at a memorial service held at 11 a.m. today at the site. The Moving Wall will remain at the scene through Sunday during Follansbee Community Days. After the festival begins this afternoon, parking won’t be available at the school, but shuttles may be taken from the following sites along state Route 2: Jo-Jon’s near Mahan Lane, James Funeral Home, the Brooke County Senior Center, Follansbee City Building, former site of Farmer Frank’s and Domino’s Pizza. -- Warren Scott
