Bruins defeat Monarchs

WELLSBURG - Logan Lojszczyk earned medalist honors with a 78 Monday as the Brooke golf team defeated John Marshall, 359-426, at Highland Springs.

Noah Teaff and Mario Boni each shot 93 and Michael Petrosky a 95 for the Bruins.

Colin Griffith had a 93 for the Monarchs. Austin Blake shot 108, Kenneth Corley 111 and Kailey Pettit a 114.

Wildcats stop Big Red

EAST?SPRINGFIELD - Ben Boyd captured medalist honors with a 91 as the Edison golf team beat Steubenville, 386-437.

Jimmy Marsh shot 95, Clay Woodward 99 and Shane Pendleton 102 for the Wildcats.

Kasey Peterson led Big Red with a 91. Josh Gault shot 102 and Isaiah Lee and Jonah Moro each had a 122.

Weir High's Tyler Warrick shot 98 and Austin Paul-Orrechio 102.

Huskies finish 10th

WEST LAFAYETTE - The Harrison Central golf team shot 395 Monday at the Indian Valley Invitational at River Greens Golf Course.

Austin Kowalski led the Huskies with an 88. Ian Saho shot 98, Evan Ossman a 99 and Bryce Walrath and Jarett Edwards each shot 110.

Buckeye alumni band to play

YORKVILLE - The Buckeye Local School District Alumni Band will march with the Panther Band at the Aug. 31 home football game against Westinghouse of Pittsburgh.

Steubenville to hold sign-ups

STEUBENVILLE - Registration for the Steubenville Girls Softball Association fall ball will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jim Wood Park. The cost is $30 per girl, and $15 for each additional girl in the family for age groups U8, U10, U12 and U15. You can bring a team for $300.

OVAC seeking hoop officials

The OVAC and the Ohio Valley Basketball Officials Association are seeking new recruits to become basketball officials. Classes will begin next month.
