Sycamore Tree

sale on Thursday

Sycamore Tree Church located at 301 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, will hold a soup and sandwich sale from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday.

The menu will include wedding, vegetable or chicken tortilla soup by the cup for $2 or bowl for $3; hot turkey sandwiches or sloppy joes for $2.50; hot dogs for $1.50 (50 cents more for a coney); a brownie or peanut butter cake for 50 cents; and drinks for 50 cents.

Orders can be e-mailed by 10 a.m. Thursday to www.sycamoretreechurch.com and should include a phone number and address to specify pickup or delivery. After 10 a.m. Thursday, place orders by calling (740) 282-0997.

One free delivery is made to the Weirton Half Moon area around 11:30 a.m. Thursday and to Trinity West around noon.

Lunch, bake sale

at Weirton church

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church will hold a soup and salad lunch and bake sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church located at 604 Colliers Way, across from the Weirton Medical Center.

The meal includes stuffed pepper or wedding soup, hoagie and dessert. The cost is $5. For takeout orders, call (304) 723-9746.

Multiple Sclerosis

group to meet

The Weirton and Steubenville Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Serbian American Cultural Center in Weirton.

Those with MS and their loved ones are invited to attend.

Flag retirement

ceremony off

The Wintersville Woman's Club announced Tuesday that a flag retirement ceremony set for Sept. 15 at the Wintersville Fire Department parking lot has been canceled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

Country Friends

to host Eldurays

Country Friends will host the Eldurays on Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road in Colliers.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m.

Country Friends holds covered-dish dinners and open mic nights every Monday and Friday. The doors open at 4 p.m., the dinner begins at 5 p.m. and open mic begins at 6 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner

at Knights hall

Immaculate Heart of Mary Council No. 472, Knights of Columbus, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Knights hall on Two Ridge Road, Wintersville.

The menu will be spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
