Value Leader Pharmacy opens in Wintersville

Weirton Daily Times

WINTERSVILLE - Tri-State Medical Group has opened another pharmacy, Value Leader Pharmacy at 200 Luray Drive.

The new pharmacy is the third pharmacy in the group and the first in Ohio. Follansbee Pharmacy and Tri State Pharmacy service the local area out of Follansbee and Weirton, and all businesses are locally owned.

The group also operates a home medical equipment supply company, Tri-State Medical.

Registered pharmacist, owner and partner Curt Virtue, a Wintersville resident, will manage the new pharmacy. Virtue has more than 25 years of experience as a pharmacist, most of which has been in the Steubenville-Weirton markets, so he is familiar with medication issues that affect local residents.

"My experience with Medicare Part D plans, knowledge of low cost medications and our mission to help get our patients affordable medication excites me about this new opportunity to service the Wintersville area. What differentiates our pharmacies is that we work with our patients, doctors and insurance to assure patients costs are the lowest without sacrificing therapy" stated Virtue.

Value Leader is an accredited 340b pharmacy, which means it offers discounted medicine prices to patients of the new C.H.A.N.G.E. Inc. clinic operating out of the same building. The purpose of 340b is to make medical services and medications more affordable to working persons without health insurance coverage, officials said.

As with all Tri State Medical Group pharmacies, Value Leader offers free delivery to homes and worksites, free medication reviews and applies money saving manufacturer's coupons, a kid's vitamin club that provides free monthly vitamins to children ages 3-12, medication flavoring and specialized packaging for better medication compliance.

The pharmacies believe in fast, friendly service and support the communities in which they operate, officials said.
