MOUNDSVILLE - The General Federation of Women's Clubs of West Virginia Northern District held their 100th annual fall convention Oct. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Tuesday Arts Club the host club and Arts Club President Norma Schroene convention chair.
District President Jo-Ellen Wright of the Weirton Woman's Club presided. Vivian Mintreas read the inspiration, "Count Your Blessings," and Midge Berisfor led members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Club Collect.
Moundsville Mayor Eugene L. Saunders Sr. welcomed the club members.

Guest speaker Roxanne Porter spoke about her experiences as a Camp Kno Koma counselor. The camp is for diabetic children and is the federation's state project.
Helen Moren, state recording secretary and Bethany Woman's Club president, was the keynote speaker. Terri Fisher, of the Woman's Club of New Cumberland, organized the arts and crafts competition judging and announced the winning entries will be judged at the state convention in March at the Greenbrier Resort.
The 2014-2016 Northern District officers were elected, including President Hawkes; First Vice President Lexi Hankett, Woman's Club of Wheeling; Second Vice President Diana Durst, Woman's Club of Weirton; Secretary Schoene; and Treasurer Moren. All officers were installed, with the exception of Hawkes, who will be installed at the state convention.
