SEMINAR -- Educators from Indian Creek Local, Harrison Hills City, Carrollton Exempted Village, Buckeye Local and Nordonia school districts attended for a three-day hands-on seminar presented by the Grand Lodge of Masons of Ohio at no cost to their districts. Larry Newman, co-founder of the Masonic Model Student Assistance Program, and Joe Brancoccio, presenter, were on hand at the Indian Creek Local School District Administrative building to show those in attendance how to identify at-risk children and come up with an intervention program to help those students. “The most helpful part of this training was how everything is so streamlined. I honestly feel that everything in this training was helpful,” said Sarah Houser, an Indian Creek teacher. Teachers taking part included Megan Evans, Houser and Sondra Vojvodich from Indian Creek; Aaron Coleman and Melinda Wracher from Nordonia; Cindy Schooler, Holly Grishkevich, Anita Westling and Kim Malechowski from Buckeye Local. T.C. Chapalear, assistant superintendent at Indian Creek, also was on hand. — Contributed
