Redskins tear down Beavers’ dam

WINTERSVILLE — The Indian Creek volleyball team defeated Beaver Local 22-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-20 on Monday in Buckeye 8 Athletic League action.

Sarah Mazzaferro led the Redskins (3-4) with nine kills and three aces. Chelsea Connor had eight kills, two blocks and one assist. Taylor Jones recorded three kills, five blocks and four aces. Autumn Miller added two digs, three aces and 25 assists.

“As a team, we’ve been practicing how to play with a purpose,” Indian Creek coach Molly Wilson said. “We were finally able to pull it together and play as team. I’m so proud of the girls and all of their hard work. This is a huge win for us, and I’m excited to see where we go from here.”

Madison Smith sparked the Beavers with 15 kills. Karlee Furman had three kills and four digs. Kinzie Galeoti had 13 digs. Elaina Howell added 17 assists and five digs. Madison Kendall had 16 assists. Heavyn Wolski had four kills.

Indian Creek won the jayvee match 21-25, 25-21, 25-22. Grace Hill had 10 kills. Alannah Boyd added 10 assists.

Creek also won the freshman match 25-19, 25-23. Bailey Bowersock had 12 points for Beaver.

Indian Creek hosts Buckeye Local on Thursday. The Beavers host John Marshall today.
