Blue Dons come back in big way
CAMERON — The Madonna baseball team erased a four-run, seventh-inning deficit to defeat Cameron, 6-5, on Wednesday.
Dom Brncic had the eventual game-winning RBI single. He finished with two RBIs overall. Matt Amaismeier delivered two hits and two RBIs. He also got the save after Gavin Dietrich pitched the first six innings. Dietrich also singled twice, as well as Dom Mazur, Dylan McDaniel and Dylan Austin. All 14 of the Blue Don (7-12) hits were singles.

RAYLAND — The Buckeye Local baseball team held off Indian Creek for a 3-2 victory on Wednesday.
Shayne Christian led the Panthers (6-3) with three singles and two runs batted in. Owen Long tallied the third RBI. Dalton Watt started and picked up the victory. He walked two and struck out two in five innings. Daniel Kelley picked up a two-inning save.
For the Redskins (4-5), Josh Speaker singled twice and drove in a run. Klay Cottis also had two singles. Aiden Fernandez started and took the loss. He walked three and struck out a pair in 5 1/3 innings.
Indian Creek hosts East Liverpool today, while Buckeye Local travels to Edison on Friday.

EAST PALESTINE — The Toronto baseball team only needed five innings to defeat East Palestine, 12-2, on Wednesday.
Kobe Herrick had the big bat for the Red Knights (7-3, 6-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference). He had a single, double and three RBIs. A.J. Clegg recorded a single, double and two RBIs. Nate Karaffa singled, doubled and drove home one run. Lucas Gulczynski also singled and doubled.
Tristan Thomas started and picked up the victory. He walked one and struck out three in four innings. Herrick pitched the final frame.
The Red Knights host Youngstown East at 6 p.m. on Friday.
